Effect Diffuser Important Hint

The benefits of having this in your camera bag and using for most close to medium range indoor shooting is enormous – so I would highly recommend. It is very expensive for a simple piece of plastic…but I guess in comparison to the other items in my camera bag it’s a drop in the bucket…

What can I use for lighting instead of a flash? ...also... Can Olympus C750 ultra zoom use external flash?
I don't need it now, but I'm wondering in case I ever will.I am going to do a program that gives a free white diffuser umbrella(which I know is useless without a flash). I know that strobes are the brightest type of lights, so it won't be the same effect, but I was wondering if I could use a really Effect Diffuser bright lamp. I've heard of hot lights but I'm not sure what they are.I have an Olympus C750UZ and I don't know if that can use external flashes either.once I do the program, I know I will have to do a project on portraiture. So before I even apply for it I want to know that I won't get stuck.it does have a hotshoe, now that I remember, I think with a hotshoe I can use adapters for flashes.I don't mean external flash that you connect into the hotshoe. I mean a flash that has it's own stand that mounts both the flash and the umbrella. I'm not sure what it's called, apparently not an external flash.And I have both an SLR Cannon EOS Rebel X and a Digital "SLR-like" camera.
