I’ve used Nikon and Canon Right Angle findes in the past and they weren’t any better and they did cost 3 to 4 times as much. This Seagull fits my Pentax well, works well and feels solid. What more could you ask for? Don’t waste money on the big brand names, buy the Seagull.
Help answer the question about Seagull Clear
puppies ill at 3 weeks ?
puppy died last night. he was weak all day, stopped feeding, refused hand feeding, laid away from litter mates, cried like a seagull all day, couldnt walk, back legs buckled under him, he eventually went floppy and died in my arms late last night.why ? what causes this in a litter ? he seemed to be feeding fine before this and was one of the strongest in the litter. i need to try to work out what happened to make sure its not contagious for the rest of the litter. vet is usless and doesnt offer any info exept that this happens in a litter of 9, he was three weeks old though and feeding fine. I've started weaning the pups today just incase it was because he wasnt getting enough milk from mother, but i think he was feeding fine. i worked on him for an hour last night and when i was doing the swing to try to clear his lungs a lot of milk was coming up through his nose. we couldnt start him breathing again sadly.now today ive seen milk come out of another pups nose and not whilst feedingthis was a wanted litter so please no flaming, they are pedigree planned and wanted.re the other pup. this pup is so far healthy but he is sneezing a lot today and milk is coming through his nose when he sneezes, this is not during nursing, this is half an hour to an hour after he has stopped feeding it is still happening. i may just be being overly anxious after losing one pup,he doesnt seem ill other than this, he is not crying or anything, but the first pup went down hill very wucik, one day from start of symptoms to finish.. ive looked up fading pup syndrome, could it be this ? and then why not the runt, why one of the strongest ? i have two very small weaker pups in this litter that i have had to keep a close eye on and they are both healthy and fine, yet the stronger pup who was feeding and running around dies for no apparent reason at 3 weeks. the vet is blaming it on a lack of milk because the litter is large (9) but i dont think these pups are getting a lack of milk from mum.vampiress, grow up.. how the hell do you know if i irresponibly bred ? like i already said this is a pedigree planned breeding and there is nothing irresponsible about it,. you show me a breeder who knows everything before they start and has experienced everything, certainly not you girl. i have the guts to stand up and ask advice when i need it and to learn from the experience, so i dont give two hoots what you think.. how about you dont reply if you have nothing useful to say, because i dont really want to hear your useless opinion.people like you discust me, i am very upset about this puppy, and you have no respect, you dont know what your talking about, you dont know any of the facts, so shame on you !!thanks everyone for the kind advice..yes i was thinking of fading puppy syndrome..its so devestating when they fade no matter what you try.i tried towelling him, swinging, breathing for him, everything.. before he past i tried him with lactol from the bottle, when that failed i spoon fed him,and when that failed i Seagull Clear tried sugar, water salt solution.. but there was just nothing i could do to save him, and thats hard when you have looked after them for 3 weeks to lose one for no apparent reason. ive been through this before, but never like this, without a cause and with the pup not responding to anything.thanks all, well the other pup doesnt seem to be sneezing any longer, and like i said i may just be being paranoid about it. he is running around and waging his tail, he is eating well and he doesnt look ill apparent from the sneezing milk earlier on today.it was the emergency vet who told me what he did, he said its just natures way with big litters, i can expect 2 or 3 to just fade and that the mom isnt capable of feeding 9 pups !!he refused to see the puppy last night, he said it looks very bad and the pup will die before the night is over, and if im lucky and can get some sugar solution down him, he may make it until morning, but if i bring him in to the vet they will put him to sleep. pup died in my arms while i was still on the phone to him. so no he didnt want to see the litter and didnt do any tests for anything.I'm quite disgusted really, i dont know that vet, he is only on nights, usually they are very good.Hino he was not aspirating with the lactol, i was very careful and by that stage he was already limp and almost gone, it was a last attempt to get some fluid into him and try to revive him some. The Slinging I only did once he had some breathing completely, i tried the towell rubbing, to no avail and then because milk came up through his nose i tried slinging to clear his lungs just incase, but he was already gone by that point, i wouldnt do it to a live pup, it was just a last resort you know, i hoped where everything else had failed that slinging may do something to start him breathing again..sorry not "some breathing completely"stopped breathing completely lol typing too fast..parvo ? there is no sign of diarrhea or anything though, wouldnt this and dehydration be apparent ? or are the symptoms different in such young pups, although by now i would have expected the whole litter to come down with it..Herpes i am worried about, but again shouldnt they be able to regulate their temp now at 3 weeks old ? so it would come out in fever form instead, pups dont die from herpes after they can regulate their temp do they ? thanks allthanks everyone, some really great advice.I will take them to the vet.Problem is we are in the middle of the welsh countryside and we only have one local vet, if i phone him now i get put through to the same idiot i did last night, so i am going to keep a very close eye on the pups and if they show any other symptoms or he start the sneezing again ill take them to him and insist he tests them, if not then ill take them in the morning to the normal vet. its a horrible descicion to make because ill worry all night, but the alternate is to take the pups 40 miles at night with minus 2 temp outside, all 8 of them and mum in the car, which is not good for them if it turns out there isnt a virus. i will be very hard to keep them all warm for that distance and very distressing. so i hope they show no more symptoms, and everything is fine until the morning. otherwise ill just have to go see that crazy emergency vet down the road, he wnated to put the puppy just coz "mum cant feed 9 pups" jeezhas anyone had any experience of fading puppy syndrome affecting more than one pup in litter ? is there a higher chance of another pup coming down with it now ?thanks allyes it was a normal birth without any complications, took awhile to get started but one the first pup was born, they were all born within 10 min of each other, an half hour break in between,so they were all born within a few hours.. they fed right away, mum nursed them fine, so they should have had quite a bit of first milk at that point. All the sacs were intact, mum broke them right away, i towelled the pups and got them breathing and gave them straight to mum. With the vet, yes, its ridicolous, i had 12 in a litter a few years back and no problems with milk supply or feeding, all the pups lived.Mum is a labrador so quite a big dog.The thing that made me go cold, was he said if the pup responds to the sugar solution and makes it through the night, he was put him to sleep in the morning, no tests no treatment, he would just let him fight to live all night long and do that in the morning, which is just beyond words, i was speachless.you know, maybe had he made it through the night, nothing could have been done for him anyway, and had he been in pain then at that point i would have considered him being pts. but a vet shouldnt state that is what he will do, without even seeing the pup should he, he could have had a virus and responded to antibiotics or something.. i dont know, i just thought any decent vet would have at least tried to save him. I asked him on the phone to examine him and tube feed him to get some liquid in him, then run some tests to see if anything could be given, but he just refused and said thats what happens in a big litter.. but the pup didnt make it so i guess in one way he was right. so sad.I just looked up the symptoms of Leptospirosis and it is a possibility espeically as ive caught the mother drinking from the drain before now, put a stop to that very quickly, but maybe it is something she can carry i dont know ? I will ask the vet to look at that also.It has reminded me of something though, approx 5 hours before the puppy died his breathing became labored, and the last few hours he was very cold for no reason, the whelping box is by a radiator they are being raised indoors, and they have a heated area also. The rest of the litter had normal temps, I carried him around wrapped in my jumper for the last hour but i couldnt get him any warmer, he seemed quite cold, his gums were very pale also.does this fit with fading puppy syndrome?anyway, all the pups are happily suckling right now, its 5.09 am and ive been up all night watching them to make sure they dont develop any symptoms, they seem fine so far. jo
