I bought this filter to protect my wife’s Lumix FZ35. I have one on my Nikon D80, also. It’s an inexpensive way to add another layer of protection for the expensive camera lens. Filter quality is excellent. I recommend buying this filter.
Help answer the question about Lens Protection
Which eyeglass lens is best for me?
I had gotten transitional lenses, but the optician talked me into getting high-index (I am about -5.00 in each eye; some astigmatism as well). I do not like he high index lenses as the field I can see through is too small and it feels like I am looking through a plexiglas tube!I can actually see better (far) with my old prescription, where there is no distortion in the periphery.I remember a few years ago, this same thing happened, and I was able to get a different lens material (maybe CR-39 with scratch protection, it was a long time ago). This Lens Protection suited my needs. When I return to the optician's I am going to ask them to change my lenses to single vision instead of bifocals, but I know they will still try to talk me into high-indexHere's a list of what I don't like about my new glasses:• I can only read with the extreme lower edge of the lenses• At reading distance, the focus is is uneven, causing me to have to choose an eye with which to read. To read with my right eye, my head must be up and to the right. For my left eye, it is down and to the left.• At any distance, there is a very small field through which I can focus. No focus in the periphery, making most of the lens useless. This may be because the material (high index) is not what I prefer (I had asked for a different material, like CR-39, but was talked out of it).• At its best, distance viewing is worse than my old prescription.• The style is hideous (rectangular lenses, but to be fair, if other people don't mind what it looks like, I can deal). It looks like I am trolling for someone to tell me to get CR-39, but is there some material I am overlooking? I don't want to have flushed away the $457 on glasses I cannot use!
