Generally, a terrific, reasonably easy to use camera, and far superior to my 7 yr old Olympus that it replaced. The DMC-ZR1 has a host of features I haven’t begun to use—-but plan to, of course (:-). There was no warning (buried in fine print in the “Basic Operating Instructions”) that the supplied software would not function with 64bit Vista, but that’s a minor annoyance.
Here’s what really annoys me: I’m accustomed to uploading from my camera to PC using an AC/DC convertor, to avoid that rare instance of battery failure while uploading. So, I bought the DMW-AC5PP Adaptor, only to discover that there is no direct connection to the camera, and that another accessory is required,i.e., the DC Coupler DMW-DCC5, which does not come along with the AC Adaptor. That is in itself strange: Why sell an incomplete product?
Wait, it gets worse! The DC Coupler is not on Amazon, nor is it on hand at the Panasonic Parts Depot in WA State. “Call back in a few weeks”, the rep said.
I’ll be more careful in the pre-purchase stage the next time!

Help answer the question about Red Optical
What are my best options to connection ps3 to phillips surround sound (5.1) w/no optical input?
Right now I have audio connections (red & white) running to surround Red Optical sound and the ps3 is hooked up to tv via hdmi cable. Tv has an output for optical but receiver only has inputs for aux red&white and coaxial (orange colored or so) and no optical. What are my best options for audio connections to experience the best audio quality on my surround sound from my ps3 and tv?
