Amazon lists this as $31.04 with shipping at $3 and change, but when I go to check out, wants me to pay $14+ for shipping!!! This can be purchased direct from Canon for $8.50, not sure what the shipping is, but I’ll bet it’s less than $30 dollars. What’s up Amazon? Found on a reputable camera supplier site for $8.50 with $4.95 S&H. Normally very happy with amazon pricing, but this is not OK.

Best Canon Lens for Gymnastics Photography? PLEASE HELP?
Hi, I would like to buy a nice lens so that I can zoom in from a distance and take some nice crisp shots of my teammates on the gymnastics team but I'm not sure what lens I should buy. I would be willing to only spend around 250 dollars, because I am not a professional, photography is just a hobby of mine that I love. I was looking at the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom Lens + Deluxe Accessory Kit on Amazon.com because it was cheap and i think i need a telephoto zoom lens? But people also Lens Accessory recommended the Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM, or the 70-200 f2.8 L or 2.8 70-210mm or a 50mm 1.4. I would like to buy the lens today before 12:30 pm EST because then I can get free shipping so it comes before the gymnastics competition this weekend. Someone please help me!!Thank you so much for responding quickly! i really appreciate it. so i think i'll go with my first idea, the cheaper lens, but will that be able to zoom in from a distance? because i won't be able to stand on the floor, and also i want the images to be crisp and so that i don't have to crop them later to zoom in. also will that lens be able to capture the fast moving gymnasts in low light since i'm not allowed to use flash?What about the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens? If it's better quality I would be willing to pay around 500 dollars if it's worth it.I forgot to mention that I have a Canon EOS Rebel T1i (500d) but thank you everyone for the input, it's really helping me a lot. I'm an 18 year old college student and this purchase will probably wipe out my bank account, but I want a telephoto zoom lens so bad! (next will be macro haha)
