My kids have had different brands of digital cameras but I couldn’t pass up the price on this Canon PowerShot for &79.00!! I’m a first time user and didn’t want too many bells and whistles but did want quality and ease of use. I got all that and then some!! My girls are jealous and want to use it now. The 3.3 Optical Zoom does more then I thought it would, taking great shots from 2-3 acres away of a beautiful Crane in our field. You could hardly see it well with the naked eye but you could make it out great in the shots I took. Also the first Robin this spring came out so clear and bright. You don’t need to wait long in between flashes and it’s very easy to use and being Canon, it’s quality through and through. The only people who would leave a bad review either received a defective one or in need of an expensive SLR, cause this camera has it all for every need in simple picture taking! For occasions, trips, weddings, birthdays, holidays, parties, indoors, outdoors, action or still shots for selling items….and the list goes on. How i got it for $79.00 is a mystery since it changed to that price in my cart from $99 for only a week or so. And the A490 (newer version) isn’t any better I see so “Thanks Again Amazon”!!

What is the difference between Optical Zoom and Digital Zoom? What camera has the max zoom?
I am looking for a camera Camera Zoom that deep zoom (at least 10x) Any websites of discount digital cameras you recommend? I had a Konica Minolta (film) that was good but what is a good one for a digital camera? I also had a kodak (digital Cam.) it was decent.
