This is a great add-on for anyone that wants more reach with their point-and-shoot and doesn’t want to step up to a dslr. I bought it to use with my Panasonic Lumix FZ8 and the results are amazing. Before I bought it I had narrowed the field down to the Panasonic teleconverter and the Raynox. I went with the Raynox because (1) it was about $30 cheaper (2) no additional adapter was needed (for the Panasonic I needed a $25 adapter) (3) it is threaded to accept filters (not so for the Panasonic) (4) 2.2x as opposed to 1.7x for the Panasonic. I’ve read some reviews with complaints about vignetting and color distortion, but I have not seen anything of the sort. I mainly do bird photography and I was able to get clear, rich hand-held shots. Comes with an assortment of adapter rings, front and rear caps, padded storage bag, and hood. The only tiny complaint is that it is a bit difficult to screw it on.
Help answer the question about Telephoto Pro
trying to work out the best lens to go for. please help?
im using a d40 and i want to get a telephoto lens to take wildlife/nature and just get a better focal length. im not a pro so i dont know if i really need a really expensive lens. these are my two choices the tamron and the nikkon. http://www.jessops.com/online.store/categories/Accessories/Camera%20Accessories/Lenses/products/Tamron/70-300mm%20F45.6%20DI%20LD%20Macro%20(Nikon%20AF)-66332/Show.html http://www.jessops.com/online.store/categories/Accessories/Camera%20Accessories/Lenses/products/Nikon/AF-S%20VR%2070-300mm%20f4.5-5.6G%20IF-ED%20Lens-35945/Show.html i Telephoto Pro already know that the nikon is the far better more versitile lens. but just wanted the opinion of more experienced photographers which one they would go for ie: would it be ok to go for the tamron then upgrade to better kit at a later date, so just do the money and have something really really good which i could use on say a d300. so really im asking for a non pro, but enthusiastic amature, should i get the tamron and save myself a bit of dosh or go all out and get the big beast? or maybe just split the difference and go for the 55-200 http://www.jessops.com/online.store/categories/products/Nikon/55-200mm%20f4.-5.6%20AFS%20DX%20VR%20Lens%20(Black)-50317/Show.html
