This lens hood is fine if you only use it on a fixed focal length (FFL) lens. I currently use it on my Nikkor 50mm f1.8 and have no issues.

Unfortunately, when you place the hood on a zoom lens like the Nikkor 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 lens and pull back for some wider focal length shots, you get a not so beautiful vignette effect.

It states in the Technical Details of the product: “Petal shape avoids vignetting that can occur round lens hoods”. This could not be further from the truth when it comes to zoom lenses at wide focal lengths.

Summary: Good for Fixed lenses, BAD for Zoom lenses.
